Kiawah Island Ocean Course is one of the great American golf challenges. A Pete Dye design that uses the Atlantic wind as its most punishing hazard. Ten of the eighteen holes run directly along the ocean. The finishing stretch is as dramatic as anything in championship golf. We arrive in fall, when the Lowcountry light softens and the summer crowds have thinned and the Ocean Course belongs almost entirely to the people playing it.
